Pokemon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. The trailer campaign built considerable anticipation, and its 35mm prints circulated widely across American multiplexes during a period when Pokemon had reached genuine mainstream saturation.

This cell, titled Mew, captures the legendary psychic Pokemon enveloped in a dramatic burst of purple energy against a deep dark background, with blue structural elements visible in the upper frame. The cell is a duplicate printing, showing the same Mew energy burst scene twice, a common trailer production technique used to extend specific moments across the print run.
