FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. distributed Pokémon: The First Movie in North America in November 1999, bringing the globally dominant franchise to American theaters for the first time. Adapted from the Japanese original and paired with the short Pikachu's Vacation, the film arrived at the peak of Pokémon's cultural saturation and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s children's entertainment and the anime crossover moment in Western cinema.

This cell captures three frames from the theatrical trailer, each centered on Mewtwo against a deep, near-black background. The first frame presents the character as a faint silhouette alongside the partially visible title card, while the second and third frames show Mewtwo more clearly beneath the blue logo text that identified the trailer's branding. A quiet, atmospheric sequence from one of 1999's most recognizable promotional campaigns.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
