FILM NOTES

Pokemon: The First Movie arrived in North American theaters in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Adapted from the Japanese animated feature produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film marked the peak of the late-1990s Pokemon cultural phenomenon and remains a significant artifact of that era's intersection between animation, merchandising, and theatrical exhibition.

This cell captures three consecutive frames from the trailer's Mewtwo title card sequence, presenting the logo emerging against a deep blue field with Mewtwo's silhouette rising behind the text. The slight variations across the three frames reflect natural exposure and registration shifts inherent to 35mm photochemical printing, offering a rare look at the sequential rhythm of one of the trailer's most atmospheric moments.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
