FILM NOTES

Warner Bros. distributed Pokémon: The First Movie in North America in November 1999, bringing the globally dominant Nintendo franchise to American theaters for the first time. Produced by OLM, Inc. and released domestically through a partnership with 4Kids Entertainment, the film arrived at the peak of Pokémon's cultural saturation and became one of the highest-grossing anime features of its decade, cementing the property's crossover from television to cinema.

This cell, titled Venusaur Clone by the operator, captures three consecutive frames of Venusaur rendered in the film's characteristic blue-green palette, likely drawn from the cloning or battle sequences central to the story. The optical soundtrack and Dolby SR audio strips are visible along the lower edge, offering a complete cross-section of a theatrical 35mm release print.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
