FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The First Movie arrived in North American cinemas in November 1999, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following its original Japanese release the previous year. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film represented the peak of late-1990s Pokémon cultural saturation and remains a landmark in anime theatrical distribution history.

This cell, titled Mew, captures four frames from the trailer's most visually abstract sequence. The opening frames present a white figure amid radiating purple and blue energy forms against deep black. The third frame is largely washed out, consistent with a flash transition, while the fourth resolves to a solid purple field with a faint central glow — moments tied directly to Mew's ethereal presence in the footage.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
