Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, following the unprecedented cultural wave generated by the first Pokémon film. Directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, the sequel expanded the mythology of the franchise by centering on the legendary Pokémon Lugia and themes of ecological balance. It remains a significant theatrical artifact of the turn-of-the-millennium animation boom.

This cell, titled Ash & Pikachu Ride On Lugia, captures Lugia in open flight against a bright blue sky broken by clouds. The legendary Pokémon dominates the frame, its pale form rendered in the film's characteristic hand-drawn style, with a small figure visible on its back marking one of the story's most visually memorable passages.
