Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, arriving at the peak of the franchise's cultural dominance. The sequel to the record-breaking original film, it centered on the Legendary birds and the oceanic guardian Lugia, drawing millions of young audiences into theaters and cementing Pokémon's place in the history of animated cinema.

This cell, titled Ash & Pikachu Ride On Lugia, captures Lugia mid-sequence, its distinctive silhouette rendered against swirling purple and blue energy that defines the film's climactic visual language. Drawn and photographed on 35mm, the frame preserves a key moment shared between Ash and his partner Pikachu alongside one of animation's most recognized Legendary Pokémon.
