FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in Japan in 1999 and internationally in 2000, produced by OLM, Inc. and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America. The second theatrical entry in the Pokémon franchise arrived at the height of the global phenomenon, expanding the mythology with the legendary birds and the ocean guardian Lugia. It remains a significant cultural artifact of late-1990s animation and the franchise's commercial peak.

This cell captures Ash and Pikachu riding on Lugia, rendered in the film's characteristically bold palette of deep blues and violets. White light trails and fluid, splash-like forms fill the frame, reflecting the kinetic energy of the sequence as the legendary Pokémon moves through sky and sea. The abstraction of the imagery is true to the film's ambitious visual approach during its most mythological passages.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
