Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, following the unprecedented theatrical success of the first Pokémon film. Adapted from the original Japanese production by OLM, Inc., it arrived at the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s anime crossover into Western mainstream cinema. The film's orchestral scope and hand-drawn animation represent a transitional moment in theatrical anime production.

This cell, titled Charizard & Friends by the operator, captures Charizard in dramatic aerial flight against the film's signature purple storm sky, with Lugia present within the sequence's climactic confrontation.
