Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in Japanese theaters in July 1999 and reached North American audiences the following summer through Warner Bros., riding the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon. The second theatrical entry from OLM, Inc. expanded the animated universe beyond Mewtwo, centering on ancient prophecy and the balance of nature. It remains a notable artifact of late-1990s anime crossover into mainstream Western cinema.
