Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in North American theaters in July 2000, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures during the height of the franchise's cultural dominance. The second theatrical entry in the series, it expanded the mythology of the games and animated series by centering on Legendary Pokémon, drawing enormous audiences of children and families at the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon.

This cell captures Lugia suspended against a swirling composition of deep purples and browns, the creature's limbs extended as it moves through what reads as a cosmic or oceanic expanse. The two consecutive frames preserve a rare overhead perspective of the film's central figure, offering a quiet and compositionally striking record of one of the production's most visually distinctive sequences.
