FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in North American theaters in July 2000, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures following the franchise's explosive crossover into Western popular culture. Produced by OLM, Inc. and directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, the film expanded on the mythology established by its predecessor, centering on elemental legendaries and the fragile balance of the natural world. It remains a defining artifact of the late-1990s and early-2000s animation boom.

This cell, titled Lugia, captures the legendary Pokémon enveloped in swirling blue energy and white streaks of light, drawn from what appears to be the film's climactic aerial or underwater sequence. The duplicate frame reflects standard printing practice and reinforces the continuity of the surrounding strip. It is a quiet but visually striking piece of hand-painted animation from a pivotal moment in the feature.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
