FILM NOTES

Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in Japan in 1999 and internationally in 2000, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, it arrived at the peak of the global Pokémon phenomenon and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s animated cinema, notable for its orchestral score and ambitious mythological scope centered on the Legendary birds and the guardian of the seas.

This cell captures Lugia rendered in the film's signature dramatic style, white energy streaks cutting across a deep blue and purple field — imagery drawn from the power sequences that define the character's presence on screen. Two near-consecutive frames from what appears to be a single continuous shot, the cell offers a focused and visually striking record of Lugia at the heart of the film's most iconic moments.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
