Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, arriving at the peak of the franchise's cultural dominance. The second theatrical entry in the Pokémon film series, it expanded the mythology introduced in the first film by centering on the Legendary Pokémon of the Orange Islands. Directed by Kunihiko Yuyama, the film remains a defining artifact of late-1990s and early-2000s animation and the global phenomenon that surrounded it.

This three-frame cell, titled Ash & Pikachu Ride On Lugia, captures the film's most visually iconic sequence. Pulled from 35mm theatrical print, the frames show Lugia soaring through a cloudy blue sky with Ash Ketchum and Pikachu on its back, the composition held across all three frames in a sustained, almost meditative moment of flight.
