Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released by Warner Bros. Pictures in North America in July 2000, serving as the theatrical follow-up to the franchise's breakout first film. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, it arrived at the peak of global Pokémon fever and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s anime crossover into Western cinema.

This three-frame cell, titled Lugia, captures the legendary Pokémon in sustained flight through a churning storm of orange and purple energy, with Ash and Pikachu riding on its back across consecutive moments of the same shot. The sequence represents one of the film's most visually ambitious passages, rendered here in original 35mm.
