Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, following the unprecedented theatrical success of the first Pokémon film. Produced by OLM, Inc. and distributed internationally by Miramax, it arrived at the peak of the franchise's cultural dominance and remains a defining artifact of late-1990s animation reaching mainstream Western cinema audiences.

This cell, titled Team Rocket, Ash and Pikachu, captures Ash Ketchum and Pikachu alongside Jessie, James, and Meowth in a shared group composition across three nearly sequential frames. The white Team Rocket uniforms with their R insignia are clearly present throughout, making this a rare piece of 35mm footage in which rivals and protagonist occupy the same shot together.
