Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in North American theaters in July 2000, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures during the height of the franchise's cultural dominance. A sequel to the record-breaking first film, it centered on the legendary birds and the collector Lawrence III, drawing enormous audiences and cementing anime as a mainstream force in Western cinema.

This cell, titled Team Rocket, Ash and Friends, captures a dramatic overhead shot from what appears to be a pivotal ensemble moment aboard a ship or island structure. Pikachu, Ash, Misty, Melody, and Tracey are gathered alongside Jessie, James, and Meowth, the full traveling company united beneath sweeping sails or drapery in three consecutive frames from a single continuous shot.
