Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in North American theaters in July 2000, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures during the height of the franchise's cultural dominance. A sequel to the record-breaking first film, it centered on the legendary birds and the collector Lawrence III, drawing enormous audiences and cementing anime as a mainstream force in Western cinema.
