Warner Bros. distributed Pokémon: The Movie 2000 in North America in July 2000, following the franchise's explosive crossover from Game Boy cartridges and trading cards into mainstream cinema. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, the film centered on the legendary Pokémon Lugia and drew enormous audiences during the height of Pokémon's cultural dominance.
