Pokémon: The Movie 2000 arrived in Japanese theaters in July 1999 and reached North American audiences the following summer, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Produced by OLM, Inc. for Nintendo and Game Freak, the film represented the franchise at the height of its cultural saturation, drawing enormous box office returns and cementing animated theatrical releases as a viable commercial force in Western markets. Its orchestral score and mythological scope set it apart from its predecessor.

This four-frame 35mm strip, titled Lugia, captures the legendary Pokémon in sustained flight against a warm golden and fiery backdrop. Across each successive frame, Lugia's wings remain broadly spread as the angle shifts subtly, preserving the sense of motion through minor positional variation. The warm atmospheric tones give the sequence a dramatic, elemental quality consistent with Lugia's role as a creature of oceanic and aerial myth within the film's narrative.
