Pokémon: The Movie 2000 was released in North America by Warner Bros. Pictures in July 2000, arriving at the peak of the franchise's cultural dominance. The sequel to the record-breaking first film, it centered on the legendary birds and the prophecy surrounding Lugia, and drew enormous theatrical audiences while cementing Pokémon as a genuine cinematic phenomenon of its era.

This cell, titled Team Rocket, Ash and Pikachu, captures a recurring and quietly memorable sequence from the film: Ash Ketchum, Pikachu, Jessie, James, and Meowth sharing a rubber life raft on open ocean water, photographed from above. The aerial framing emphasizes their unlikely alliance, one of the film's more human moments amid its larger spectacle.
